"Here's a photo that Sarah Brown took of the Challah we made at the Kid's FUN Hebrew Play class. The 9-candles burning was a sweet ceremony we did where each of us shared what action we would take to bring PEACE into our world. The answers were precious, and we hold the love and light for these prayers to be answered." Icasiana Barrs (Mom in our class)
"We had a wonderful time braiding the challot and shaping them, decorating with seeds, etc. Two of these challot will be blessed and eaten for Tot Shabbat. The kids & parents learned the meaning of the Motzi prayer over the challah and we chanted it together.
Because Tu B'Shevat was coming up, we also hugged & blessed trees and listened to the sap rising. Then each child & adult told our group how they received a blessing from the trees.
We talked about how blessing the bread (grain) from the earth and loving our tree friends offers us beautiful ways to be in touch with Nature in so many ways through our Jewish life & prayers."
