The mitzvah of watching over the body of the deceased until burial is said to be one of the very highest mitzvot of all - the deceased cannot thank you. As our congregation grows, the need to perform this mitzvah also grows. And so we need to expand our list of volunteers.
Rabbi Eli Cohen and Etiel Herring will explain the dos and don'ts of doing "sh'mira" (guarding) on Sunday, April 17 at 7:30 pm at Etiel's home (714 Fairmount Avenue in Santa Cruz). The program should last about one hour.
To RSVP and for further information, call Etiel at 831-426-9432.
