Introducing CY's New Adult Ed Coordinator

May 10, 2016

Dear CY Community,

My name is Yael Karmi ( and I’m the new Adult Ed coordinator at CY. I am excited about that and would like to introduce myself to the community and inquire about classes that might be of interest to you.

I was born and raised in Israel on a kibbutz. I have a B.A in Literature and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University and a Master’s degree in Art History from SJSU. Currently I teach Art History at De Anza College and also teach Hebrew in the afternoons. My partner, Tibi, our five year old daughter and I, reside in Scotts Valley.

We would like to gather some input about classes that you would like to attend at CY. Are you interested in a book club? Sephardi cooking class? Writing? Sound healing? Text study? Adult B’nai Mitzvah? Yiddish? Film series? Anything else?

Additionally, is there any class you would like to teach?

Looking forward to hearing back from you, listening to your ideas and suggestions, and meeting you in person.
